If you live in or near Claremore there's a great used furniture shop called Rusted Rabbit. You can also find them on Facebook. I have bought many furniture pieces from them and the most recent is a beautiful vanity for my daughters room. Today the owner, Sally delivered the vanity to the house for me, as Sally and I walked around her trailer I heard Kyle (my dear husband) sputtering about. Finally he tapped me on the shoulder and pointed down, yep you guessed it a snake slithered right thru my feet under the trailer! Sally and I screamed, did a dance and Kyle went on to explain that it had slithered between my feet the whole time I walked. Thankfully it was just a garden snake but if you ask me any snake is a bad snake! That's about the most excitement we had today and thankfully all we had!
Today I made lots of progress on getting my buffet painted. I sanded it down along with a few smaller furniture pieces, cleaned it with Lysol and began painting. I found out very quickly that I do not like Sherwin Williams paint, it's just way to thick and after thining it out with water I left some runs on my first coat with my spray gun. After letting it dry and sanding the runs I painted until I ran out, which if I would have used Valspar I believe I would have had plenty of paint. So tomorrow I'm back to get more paint to finish my projects.

Well cheer tryouts are finally over and I'm proud to say that I am now the mom of a Varsity cheerleader! It's hard to believe that my oldest will be a Junior next year, it seems like just yesterday she was toddling around with those precious red curles. I'm sorry I haven't posted for a few days, the stress of tryouts gave me a 3 day migraine that I thought would never end! We had a very pleasant weekend, Mckenzie and I visited a new boutique in Collinsville, Ok, Creme De La Creme and after went to Scoops and Grind for a yummy ice cream treat with great friends. I was excited to have a day out with Mckenzie but she was even more excited to play with my friends toddler! Allison has fully recovered from her strep and is doing well. We haven't worked on the house much this weekend but tomorrow I plan to paint my $50 buffet I recently found at an facebook garage sale site, these are great ways to find bargains! Tata for now!

Today Kyle and I were awakened by our 8 year old daughter with an itchy rash all over her body! Needless to say this meant this momma would be staying home and be getting this sweet darlin to the Dr. After we dropped big sis off at school we headed straight to the Dr.s office where she was diagnosed with strep and recieved a steroid for the endless itch. In the mean time my 13 year old had called to say that the cute top she wore was NOT school code so as soon as we finished we rushed to take her a new top. Sometimes these rules seem to be a little extreme! All of this is how we spent the first hour and a half of our day! After getting Allison's meds and the itching subsided we decided to load up a blankie, pillow, tv and the DVD player and go to the new house to start the kitchen cabinets! I quickly realized that painting cabinets is not my favorite thing to paint. My sweet husband sanded them, I cleaned them with Lysol/bleach and then we were ready to begin. We painted two coats with rollers and brushes on the bases and I used my spray gun on the cabinet drawers outside. When our new cabinet doors arrive in a week I will spray those also. I intend on doing a slight distress and haven't decided yet if I will use a glaze or a stain. Now to wait on the new wood floor in the dinning and kitchen, hopefully we will move in by May 18th!

Kyle and I have found a house and are in the process of turning it into a home, our home! The house is on 4 acres, in the country and the perfect place for us. It's 2000 square feet and in need of a total kitchen makeover. At this time I'm not going to post photos of the kitchen but as soon as we are finished I will post before and afters, you will see why I waited! Lol! Kyle spent most of the day painting the kitchen and he has removed all the cabinets. We are painting the walls a creamy white and the cabinets will be Cornmeal yellow with some distress. We opted for replacing all the cabinet doors, since half of them were already missing. This allows for a less expensive facelift and will save us about $800 in the end. I haven't decided yet if I will use a glaze. My kitchen is a vintage kitchen with turqoise and red accent pieces. I've lost so much sleep at night because I awake with new ideas all the time! I'm ready for some rest and to see the finished product!
I've decided to create a blog with a modge podge of creativity, how two's while throwing in a few updates here and there of the chaos of raising three lovely daughters two of those being teens. Right now our lives consist of a total kitchen remodel, cheer tryouts with my 16 year old and trying to survive the 7th grade with an ADHD 13 year old. Not an easy task as it seems that 13 year old girls enjoy being in the throws of drama at all times at least my 8 year old is drama free right now. But this to shall pass!
